No. View and compare a huge selection of bikes from brands such as Trek, Specialized, Giant, Santa Cruz, Norco and more. You can even share reviews, comments and questions on mountain bikes. Usually an outdated frame with cheap components, outdated suspension and old geometry. Compare prices, components, suspension, reviews, images and more on current and past MTB’s. I was planning to replace the slender, lightweight seat but after riding it I'll probably keep it. They arent selling anything that is stellar. I was pleasantly surprised that the aggressive cockpit position ended up being fairly comfortable. The carbon fiber frame, fork and seatpost do a great job of smoothing out the road and the bike handles great. The gearing is perfect for my road riding but for steep trail or bike camping/adventure touring a 48-32t or even 46-30t chainring might be better. The chainrings are 2x 50-34t and the cassette is an 11 speed 11-34t with minimum gearing of 1:1 (27.2 inches and 7.3mph at 90 cadence) and max of 4.54 (123.8 inches and 33.3mph at 90 cadence). I was afraid the lowest 1:1 (34t/34t) gearing might be too high for some of the very steep Tennessee hills but it turned out to be perfect.

The weight plus low rolling resistance allows me to climb hills at speed I never dreamed of. Since this is my first "road bike" I'm obviously not an expert reviewer but I do love the bike.

I liked what I saw in the $2100 Motobecane Immortal Disc Pro SL (Super Light) 57cm gravel bike with Taiwanese UD weave carbon fiber frame (natural carbon color) with through-axles, carbon aero fork, full Shimano Ultegra R8000 drivetrain, Ultegra hydraulic disc brakes and DT Swiss wheelset with Schwalbe G-One Allround 35mm tires. I had seen before and decided to check out what they offered. My newest bike is the 2017 Motobecane Fantom Cross Trail, which costs 599.

Every component can be replaced and in time almost all of them will be. If the bundle is well-chosen, the bike will be great. Despite the hype, a bicycle is just a bundle of components. I ordered a Salsa Journeyman 700c drop bar from my local bike shop but found out it would be late January at the earliest for delivery so I canceled the order and started looking again. Motobecane Fantom Cross Trail Bike Review. I actually went with a "gravel bike" for the wider, more comfortable tires but I wanted to stick with 700c tires since the bike would be used almost exclusively for the road. I enjoyed riding so much I decided it was time for my first "road bike". May have had something to do with running into trees and such.Fast forward to mid November and I'm over 25 pounds lighter and much more fit.

Original cheap Gravity hubs - the front one wore out after about 500 miles of heavy duty trail riding. I didn't have to take to the LBS for tuning - it was perfect. Ready to ride after some simple assembly. Rugged, good components, excellent value for the money. Recommendation - buy a Moto and then spend your money on good upgrades as the components wear out. SRAM GX), and has a full inch of better ground clearance between the ground and the bottom of the crank (less rock/root smashing). It is more plush, more nimble, faster (with better/lighter wheelset), shifts crisper (Deore XT vs. I've ridden it 5-6 times trying to get used to it, but the Moto is BY FAR, the bike I prefer to ride. Six months ago, I wanted to try a different "better" bike, so bought a Specialized Carbon Camber 29". The Rockshox have been excellent - no rebuilds required so far, and the bike rides plush. So I ungraded from the Deore XT 2x10 drive train to a new Deore XT 1x11 drive train. I finally had to replace the crank set because I stripped it out bashing my pedals on rocks and roots hundreds of times. I love my Moto - I replaced the wheel set with a good set of wheels and hubs and rode it another 600 or so miles.
